37th Seminar. The Problem of Agency in the Soviet Women's Writing: Tricksterness, Queer, and Feminism

The presentation will be focused on different strategies of constructing and representing the "female", which were used by Soviet women writers. We will talk in length about methodological issues considering the use of gender studies' optics in Soviet context, the disruption between social and discoursive practices of producing agency, as well as about issues of gender performativity and subversion of Soviet gender order in the unofficial poetry.
